As we work with our many customers we find that Magtek has become an ambassador bringing needed technology to specific industries. Last week we had a customer who needed USB’s that were completely locked down. Our customer went to his social media contacts and asked if anybody knew of a source for USB’s that couldn’t be copied in any way. Many of his contacts expressed the opinion; a USB that couldn’t be copied didn’t exist.

We were happy to inform our customer that we had just the product for him. He wanted to put training videos on the USB’s to sell at seminars. These USB’s would contain his intellectual property. This intellectual property was very important to him and he didn’t want unauthorized people getting copies. We found exactly what he needed to feel secure.

Here is what we delivered that made him ecstatic. Working files cannot be copied off the drive. The content can be viewed, but it cannot be copied or shared. Data and files cannot be deleted off the drive or formatted off the drive. All content is locked at the controller level. If our customer decides files cannot be printed, we can restrict printing of PDF files, html files, text files and more. It is also possible to copy protect a file, yet have it printable. Users cannot select content from one document and copy-n-paste it to another. This feature is ideal for blocking a “select all” copy and paste from within a PDF. Technology blocks screen grabs on Mac computers and print screens on Windows computers.

This technology is a standalone solution. Everything runs directly off the flash drive. No internet connection is required. This technology is the only solution which works on both Mac and Windows computers. There is no software which installs on the host computer. Protected content runs 100% from the flash drive. Administrator rights are not required because nothing is installed on the host computer. There is no yearly license fee. The license comes with the purchase of the flash drive and does not expire. Magtek provides the option of assigning a password to the device adding an additional layer of security.
